In the early 1960s, an automation company named Pico was asked to automate an injection molding operation that removed parts from the injection machine and would release them so they would not touch each other during ejection. This became the first known mold extraction robot in the industry. Soon thereafter, the company was purchased by IKI industries, the largest molder in the east at the time. IKI then asked Pico to develop robots for their operation before moving into the open market.

Today, Pico is known as Ichikoh Engineering LTD or IEL. The company has experienced many changes and developments that put them in the lead with the large machine market. Competitors around the world are now developing larger machines, but most are mechanically challenged. If you are looking for a solid, high- quality machine with a user-friendly control and many years of experience, you need to look no further. Ichikoh can – and will – meet your needs for any machine in the 350 to 5,000 ton range, and larger capacities upon request.
